Can you do 2000 pushups in a month?

If you think you can do it and are up to the challenge please join us in participating in the 2nd ever #2000PushupFebruary.

Sure, we could have chosen January with 31 days but then it wouldn’t be #2000PushupFebruary – what’s another 7 pushups a day? It will take on average 72 Pushups a day for 28 days to achieve 2000. Or however you want to reach 2000 is up to you.

Sign Up is Free. For the first 200 people who complete the challenge, DataPivot will donate $25 per participant to our favorite charity: Home | Wheeler Field.  The more people who complete the challenge, the more will get donated. Participants are also highly encouraged and peer pressured to donate to this sponsored charity and help save Wheeler Field. We hope to at least match the amount DataPivot donates from participant or other funds to raise a total of $10,000 or more.

Why are we doing this? A lot of us are confined to home and not getting out as much. Pushups are FREE, accessible, and can be done from anywhere. Plus they are a GREAT workout, build strength, and 2000 in a month is a challenge for most…A Worthy Challenge!

While we’re at it, we also want to raise money for the 2nd year in a row for our favorite Charity: Friends of Wheeler Field. For more info on why we picked these charities watch the video at the bottom.

Again… Sign Up and participation in weekly status update emails is free... All we ask is if you can afford to, please donate $20 or more to help save Wheeler Field from housing development. Whatever amount you decide is your choice. When you do it, leave #Pivoting or #2000PushupChallenge or “Pushups” somewhere in the memo and they’ll know it came from this effort. Feel free to exceed the amount or the pushups you do or the amount you donate. ;) Let’s have some fun and see if we can achieve 2000 or more this February.

If you reach the goal of 2000 or more, your name will be entered into a drawing to win cool prizes when all is said and done the first Monday of March.

How to be eligible for the raffle

  • If you do 2000 pushups you are eligible for the closing ceremony raffle and get a ticket entered on your behalf with your name on it to the closing ceremony raffle.

  • 2000PushupFebruary is free – however you’re encouraged to donate and if you send a screen shot of your donation to 2000pushups@datapivottech.com of $25 or more, we’ll give you an extra raffle ticket. **Kinda like Flare from that movie Office Space, you’re encouraged to do more than the bare minimum.

  • All Participants are welcome, young and old.

  • Wheeler field is our sole benefactor this year: https://www.wheelerfield.org/ - Click on the donate link. Let’s give them the final “push” they need. “Save the field. ” Besides, It’s “for the children.”
    Major progress has happened in the last year, they have enough money to close on lot 1 of 2, and now we need to finish it out and help them raise enough money to purchase lot 2 of 2 plus building & grounds investment to make the park nice.

  • Feel free to send videos of your pushups to the 2000pushups@datapivottech.com and DJ George will edit it, and get it on youtube and share with the group.

  • Top 5 pushups finishers in the overall standings get 5 raffle tickets each. Honor System applies.

  • DataPivot will donate $25 for every participant who surpasses 2000 pushups. Last year collectively as a group, we raised over $5,000 and we’re looking to double that amount to $10,000 total.

FAQS/Things to Know:

  1. Participants are highly encouraged to make a donation of $20 or more to the sponsored charity. We’re being repetitive on purpose.

  2. Record your Pushups Daily and submit your daily total to 2000pushups@datapivottech.com and they will be recorded on the scoreboard. Tracking will not be in real time but feel free to program an app that does that for us and we’ll be sure to adopt it. It’s for charity. :) We will send out the leader board and standings via email a couple times per week.

  3. Feel free to invite a friend or anyone who would be interested. They can also hold you accountable to sticking with it and you can even compete with each other

  4. More info will be sent Monday Night prior to February.

  5. If pushups aren’t your thing but you still want to donate, be our guest, and thank you kindly for your generosity! Donations can be made directly to the Wheeler Field charity (“Save the Field/For the Children.”) and we are not in the middle. Charity: Friends of Wheeler Field.

  6. Yes you should have a plan in order to achieve the 2000 pushup goal and make it work around your schedule. Additionally, if you have a stretch goal, write it down!

  7. Be careful doing your pushups. Please do your pushups responsibly and try not to hurt yourself doing too many out of the gates. We will include safety videos and instructional videos throughout the month of February to emphasize safety and proper technique.

  8. When you sign up you will not get a confirmation email right away. You will however get an email eventually.

  9. January “warmup” pushups do not count towards February. It’s probably smart to warm up though.

  10. There are videos are at the bottom of the screen which explain more things in video form of why we’re doing this and the background to this contest.

  11. We will update this page frequently. The thought is to have a lot of activity-related stuff on this webpage this month vs. sending too many emails to each person’s email inbox.

  13. Privacy: Your sign up info and results are private amongst this elite group! Your results and/or email address will not be posted online unless you do it yourself nor will videos or information referencing you. The scoreboard tracker will only be shared amongst those who signed up and are on the team. The few, the proud…

  14. If anybody has any ideas on how to make this challenge better, cooler, or more interesting please submit them to 2000pushups@datapivottech.com. We like to crowdsource our ideas and willingly accept “feature requests.”

  15. Best Practices for recording your pushups are to send them daily, your daily total that day, to 2000pushups@datapivottech.com. Keep track of them during the day (if you spread them out) on a note pad, a whiteboard, or your phone. Losing track is easily done, keeping track is better. Best to send the email with your total after you’ve done your last pushup for the day. Batch processing for multiple days at once is also acceptable. As long as you achieve your goal that’s all that matters.
